Asani's debut CD Rattle and Drum (2005) was nominated for 11 music awards throughout North America, including a 2006 Juno Award nomination for Aboriginal Recording of the Year. This contemporary Aboriginal trio received a 2005 Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Female Traditional/Cultural Roots Album. Their music is a blend of First Nation and Metis traditional influences, infused with the sounds of jazz, folk and blues.
