Rachelle van Zanten's

Rachelle van Zanten's musical history is as varied as music itself. Growing up in northern British Columbia, she sang in church choir, took piano lessons, played drums and trumpet in the school band, and played guitar with her family on gospel, bluegrass and old time country jams.

At the age of 18, van Zanten heard the slide guitar stylings of Lester Quitzau while attending a local festival. From that day on, van Zanten has made slide guitar a focus in her songwriting.

Having outgrown her small hometown, van Zanten relocated to Edmonton in 1994, and used her strong musical foundations to begin building a career; she founded Painting Daisies with Daisy Blue Groff a year later.

Jaron Rovensky

Jaron Rovensky's been performing since he was around 10 years old, on stage, and off. Growing up in Coronation there was always a community function for him to play at, whether it be a Christmas Concert, a Rodeo, Wedding, or a funeral. So Rovensky's always felt comfortable in front of an audience. The bigger the better.

He started playing with my first band down in Ontario when he was 19. They were playing a lot of Blues, Folk and old Rock and Roll. I played around the Ottawa area for about a year or so. On a trip down to New Orleans he met up with an Australian who was living in London, England. He moved to London to work and play in a Blues bar called ''Ain't Nothing But...''.

Rovensky returned back to Canada and set up camp back in Alberta and ended up playing in an Irish Pub. He spent around 2 years living and working between Camrose and Edmonton. During this time he released two albums.
